What we aim for
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, conformance level AA. Naming a target is not the same as claiming to have hit it perfectly.
What is in place
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, and the focus outline is visible rather than removed
- A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the content
- Heading levels descend in sequence, so moving by heading in a screen reader follows the actual structure
- Images carry alternative text that describes what is in them
- Text and background are checked for contrast, in both the light and dark versions of the site
- The layout reflows on a phone and text can be enlarged without anything being cut off
- Form fields have real labels attached to them, not placeholder text pretending to be labels
- The site follows your system setting for light or dark mode
- Nothing moves, flashes or auto plays
What we know is not perfect
Some of our photographs are detailed and a short alt text cannot carry everything in them. Pages we link to elsewhere, including the state license register, are outside our control and we cannot vouch for their accessibility.
If something blocks you
Tell us and we will fix it. Email quiklocksmithinc@gmail.com or call (415) 625-5021. Say which page and what happened, and if you are using a screen reader or another assistive tool, telling us which one helps us reproduce it.
If the website is in your way and you need the service, the phone works. Somebody answers it at any hour.
