General information only
The pages on this site describe locksmith work in general terms. They are not instructions, they are not a diagnosis of your lock, and they are not professional advice for your specific situation. Every door is its own small problem.
Prices and figures
Any amount mentioned on this site is an indication, not a quote. Figures such as medians and averages describe work we completed in the past and are not a prediction of what your job will cost. A real price comes from a conversation about your job.
What this site says about our own work
Statements about which neighborhoods we work most, which jobs we take most often and when our calls come in are drawn from our own completed job records. They describe what has happened. They are not a promise about availability, response time or outcome on any future call.
Response times
Any time estimate is a best effort given where the van is at that moment. Traffic, weather, parking, bridges and the job already in progress all affect it. We would rather give you a realistic number than a flattering one.
Do not try this at home
Attempting to force, drill or pick your own lock usually ends with a destroyed cylinder, a damaged door, or both, and it costs more than the original call would have. Nothing here should be read as encouragement to try.
