Using this website
These pages set out what we do around San Francisco. None of it constitutes a binding offer, and no figure anywhere on the site is a guaranteed price. Pricing only means something once it has been given to you for your particular situation, and a booking only exists once you have asked us to come.
Quotes and how pricing works
We give a price based on what you describe. That description is the only information we have before anyone arrives, so the price rests on it being accurate.
If the work turns out to be different from what was described, the technician will stop, show you what he has found, and give you a revised price before continuing. You are free to decline at that point and you owe nothing for the assessment. Work that proceeds after a revised price has been given is accepted at that price.
Where a call out fee applies, you will be told before anyone is dispatched.
Proof that the property is yours
Before opening any door, vehicle, safe or container, we require reasonable proof that you are entitled to access it. We may refuse a job where that proof is not provided, and we will refuse it without argument. This protects you as much as it protects us.
Damage, and what we are not responsible for
Non destructive entry is always attempted first and succeeds in the great majority of cases. Where a cylinder simply will not yield to picking, drilling becomes the remaining option, and a drilled cylinder is finished and has to be swapped out. That decision is put to you before anything is cut.
Liability does not extend to damage that was already there, to hardware that was worn out, poorly fitted or installed by another party, to doors and frames sitting out of true before our arrival, or to what follows when a customer instructs us to carry on after we have advised against it.
Warranty
Hardware we supply carries the manufacturer's warranty. Our labour on an installation is warranted against faulty workmanship. Warranty does not cover ordinary wear, misuse, forced entry after the fact, or later adjustment by somebody else.
Keep your itemized receipt. Without it we cannot identify which parts were ours.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost business, lost time, towing charges or missed appointments.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Cancellation
Tell us as early as you can. If a technician has already been dispatched and is on the way, a call out charge may apply. It happens constantly that a key turns up in a pocket a minute after the call, and we would rather you ring and say so than let a van complete the drive.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute belongs in the courts of the City and County of San Francisco.
